TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY by Jay Asher 10th Anniversary Edition

I remember reading this book about 9 years ago as a brand new English teacher. Upon completion, I knew it was going to be a game changer in YA Literature. I came across it again in library school a few years later and was not surprised to see that it was. It helped change the way many of us saw YA Fiction. This is a book I can give to any student that visits the library.  It is one I often turn to when kids come asking for a realistic fiction book. It is one that is checked out frequently and one that opens up the lines of communication between people. It is such an important book in YA Literature and I am so glad it is in the hands of so many.

You can’t stop the future.
You can’t rewind the past.
The only way to learn the secret . . . is to press play.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker–his classmate and crush–who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah’s voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he’ll find out why.

Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah’s pain, and as he follows Hannah’s recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.

The #1 New York Times bestseller and modern classic that’s been changing lives for a decade gets a gorgeous revamped cover and never-before-seen additional content, including:

An introduction from its award-winning author, Jay Asher;
