She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy...
Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date....and it’s going to be oh so good. All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.
Where has Elle Kennedy been all my life? She is a Rita nominee for goodness sake!!! How she fell under my radar is a little unsettling. I love her! After reading The Deal, I went ahead and downloaded a few more Elle Kennedy books and I can not wait to devour them!
The Deal is so good! There isn’t one single thing I didn’t love about this book. Every single page, every single chapter, every single character I loved and wanted to hug!
Hannah Wells is such a refreshing character. She is a smart, sassy and a survivor. I love how she isn’t easily impressed with Garrett and his charming ways. Their hilarious and witty banter is what kept me glued to the pages unable to put it down.
“How about a date?” I offer.
That gets her attention. She straightens up like someone shoved a metal rod up her spine, then swivels her head in astonishment. “What?”
“Ah. I’ve got your attention.”
“No, you’ve got my disgust. You actually think I want to go out with you?”
“Everyone wants to go out with me.”
She bursts out laughing…
Garrett Graham, oh my, my. I love him!! How can you not? Sure, he’s arrogant and cocky, but underneath that bad boy exterior there is a heart so sweet and loyal, he had me swooning on so many occasions.
“For the love of God, I’m not tutoring you.”
“Sure you are.” I shrug. “I just need to figure out what you want in return.”
“I want to not tutor you. That’s what I want.”
Fast paced plot, witty dialogue, fun leading characters on a Can’t Buy Me Love ride and secondary characters you hope get their own happily ever after….This was a perfect read for me!
Light on the angst and heavy on the spice, The Deal is a Must Read!
Sounds like something Garrett would say 🙂
5 Happy Hearts!
“I fight back laughter. “As you wish.” “Did you really just Princess Bride me?” “Did you really just use Princess Bride as a verb?”
Yes, Hannah and I are friends. In fact, she’s the only female friend I’ve ever had. And yes, I want to keep being Hannah’s friend. But… I also want to sleep with her.”
“Somehow I’ve traveled back in time to my third-grade playground days. Unless there’s another explanation for why Garrett is goading me into kissing him.”
I never expected her. Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don’t know you ever lived without them.”
“I don’t want to be another one of your puck bunnies, and I don’t want people thinking I am, understood?” Her use of the term makes me grin harder. I like that she’s picking up the hockey lingo.”
“Living well and being happy is how we get over the shit in our past.”
“I don’t look back these days. I only look forward.”
