I am so excited to have Alice Clayton AND Nina Bocci stop by my little ol’ blog!!

I have been a stalker, I mean a super fan of Alice Clayton’s books for years!!

Her Red-Head Series is probably my favorite Romantic Comedy series EVER!

I was fortunate to meet Nina Bocci through a shared love for the Professor, you know, THE PROFESSOR…Gabriel Owen Emerson and we have been kindred Gabrielites ever since!

I love them both dearly and I am anxiously waiting for their writing collaboration

ROMAN CRAZY!!

Hey Sexy Girlfriends! Welcome to Margie’s Must Reads!! I am so happy to have you here!!!

MMR: For those who may have been living under a rock, lets start off with you gals telling us a little about yourselves.

NB: I’m a novelist and a publicist for a slew of amazingly talented USA Today and NY Times bestsellers, all of whom I’m thrilled and honored to call my friends.

AC: And I am one of those friends.

MMR: Nina, you have my dream job…can I be you when I grow up?

MMR: OK, next question…what drew you two to each other?

NB: We were assigned each other as cellmates so there wasn’t much choice. Then we found out we both loved Twilight (her Edward and me Carlisle) and the rest is history.

AC: It’s true. We were both super active in the Twilight fan fiction community and one day I told her I loved her story and asked her to read mine. She did, and we were off and running!

MMR:  Did you know I was a lurker in the fandom…and I loved Edward Wallbanger!  I love that world. I LOVE EDWARD FOREVER!!!

MMR: How long have you been besties?

NB: It’s what? About 6-7 years?

AC: LONGER! I think since 2009? I was told there’d be no math…

MMR: What brought on this collaboration?

NB: We talked for years about writing something together. The universe finally lined everything up properly and allowed this to happen. Or something.

AC: It was the universe and our Amazing Technicolor Calendar.

MMR: I, for one am VERY EXCITED!!  I know a lot of people are! I can’t wait!!

MMR: Who inspires you personally?

NB: I love love. The possibility of it, the swoony pitterpatter that your heart does, all of it. I like writing about it.

AC: Robert Pattinson.

MMR: I LOVE Love and Robert Pattinson too!!! (soul mates)

MMR: Which writers inspire you?

NB: I’m inspired by every author who is doing what they love and having the balls to put their words out there for public consumption.

AC: I read her answer quickly and saw balls and consumption and thought…hmmm. My go to author is Stephen King. The man can tell a story.

MMR: He scares the bejeezus out of me! But his non-horror books really are amazing.

MMR: Does any of your real life trickle into your books?

NB: Always! People that know us can spot it easily too.

AC: Oh my gosh totally. Especially because most of my female heroines are based on friends of mine.

MMR: I fear if I ever write a book, I will divulge the deepest darkest secrets of everyone I know!!!

MMR: Why do you love romance?

NB: With so much heartache, and overall scary shit in the world, I like the escape I get from reading it.

AC: I didn’t start reading romance until a few years ago. I admit, I thought the entire genre was pirates and Fabios and heaving bosoms. BOY was I wrong. I love it for the same reason I still want to know what happened in MY SO CALLED LIFE, the story just captivates me. I need a little happily ever after in my life.

MMR: I too believe the world be a better place if everyone read more romance.

MMR: What is your favorite Jane Austen book and why?

NB: Emma. I think it was the first Austen book I read as a young girl. I loved that Emma was a matchmaker (or tried to be 🙂 and a know-it-all.

AC: (Here’s the part where I pretend I’ve read a Jane Austen book.) I think my favorite is the one with the girl, and she’s so lovely and then that guy who we aren’t sure if we like or not and then they get together!

MMR: Oh Alice!  You need to read something by Jane Austen!! YOU NEED TO!!! From one Bestie to another, I recommend Pride and Prejudice! GET TO IT STAT!!! Emma is great too!!  Nina, make her!!  ALL ROMANCE STEMS FROM AN AUSTEN NOVEL!!

MMR: If you could pick one celebrity crush and have a hall pass, who would it be and why?

NB: One? ONE, Margie? HAHAHA Tom Hiddleston or Chris Evans (coughBOTHcough) — the why is obvious.

AC: Robert Pattinson. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

MMR: Teehee!!  Picking just one is hard…so hard…. 🙂

MMR: Book Bundle… match up a book, drink and actor.

NB: This was a lot harder than I thought but I’ll go with your boyfriend, Henry Cavill, Gabriel’s Inferno, Laphroig.

AC: I’ll raise you an HCav. Henry Cavill, SCREWDRIVERED, Scotch neat.

MMR: SQUEEEEEEE!! I LOVE ME SOME HENRY CAVILL! He is the PERFECT BOOK BOYFRIEND!

MMR: Alice, tell us something only you know about Nina.

AC: Whenever something bad happens, she lights a candle. Nervous about a flight? She lights a candle. Worried about a review? She lights a candle. Can’t find your shoe? She lights a CANDLE.

MMR: Nina, tell us something only you know about Alice.

NB: If she gets fussy, she needs gummy bears.

gummybears

MMR: What is next for you two? Together and Individually?

NB: Together: It would be great if we could publish more Broads Abroad books. Individually: I’m working on something.

AC: We’ve got a few more Broads Abroad books roughly outlined, so that’s definitely something we’d like to explore in the future. For me, just continuing to write the silly and the steamy.

MMR:  I CAN”T WAIT FOR MORE!!

MMR: Now for the MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION OF ALL QUESTIONS EVER IN THE HISTORY OF QUESTIONS…Can I be your Bestie too?

NB:You already are, silly!

AC: DONE!

MMR: WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!  I LOVE MY BESTIES!!
