Teen Read Week! Turn Dreams Into Reality @ Your Library

teenreadweek

Teen Read Week™ is a national adolescent literacy initiative created by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). It began in 1998 and is held annually during the third week of October. Its purpose is to encourage teens to be regular readers and library users.

Turn Dreams into Reality @ your library Theme

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) encourages libraries to use the Turn Dreams into Reality theme during Teen Read Week™, October 12-18, 2014, to spotlight all the great resources and activities they provide to inspire teens to succeed in school and beyond. An annual celebration of reading for fun, this year’s theme can be used to highlight a variety of resources in your collection—inspirational stories, career resources, how-to books and more! Use these materials to increase awareness of the great resources and services libraries have to offer teens and their families and to promote the importance of pleasure reading in all its forms (books, magazines, newspapers, e-books, audiobooks, & more).
